Man, Woman Each Face Felony Charge After Being Caught With Cocaine In Sprain Stop, Police Say

A man and woman are facing felony charges after they were allegedly caught with cocaine in a traffic stop on the Sprain Brook Parkway, police say.

New York State Troopers say they initiated a traffic stop on a 2015 Honda Accord on the Sprain Brook Parkway for a violation on Wednesday, April 3 around 2:30 p.m.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle’s occupants, identified as 25-year-old Ignacio Artiles Santana of the Bronx and 23-year-old Aisha Ahmad of Yonkers, were in possession of approximately three grams of cocaine, according to police.

Artiles Santana and Ahmad were arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony.

Both suspects were arraigned before the village of Hastings-on-Hudson Court. Ahmad was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yonkers Court on Thursday, April 18.

Artiles Santana was remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or bond and was scheduled to appear in the city of Yonkers Court on Thursday, April 4.
